Everyone brings unique strengths to a team. Some people see the big picture, other people just want to provide support, while others are analytical. While each of these traits hold benefits within a team, they can also make it difficult to work together. Team building is a worthwhile investment and helps colleagues learn more about each other, with the end result being a happier, more productive and successful team.

Two separate sessions, working toward one common goal.

In order to get the most out of our team building program, Venture International LLC uses two team building assessments: The Everything DiSC® and Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team. Sample assessment books can be found on the sidebar to the right.

The Everything DiSC® Assessment

Taking the DiSC® assessment helped me learn how each style interacts and works with one another.

The Everything DiSC® Workplace assessment focuses on our individual self-awareness, unique styles, tendencies and how we best work with other team members. Each team member completes an assessment that determines their placement on the DiSC® map. The quadrant designations are:

  • Dominance - direct, results-oriented, strong-willed and forceful
  • influence - outgoing, enthusiastic, optimistic and lively
  • Steadiness - even-tempered, accommodating, patient and humble
  • Conscientiousness - analytical, reserved, precise and systematic

The online assessments generally take no longer than 20 minutes. Venture International LLC builds a training session based on the results. During the session, each team member will receive a personalized book and learn how to function with those around them who may not share their own workplace behavioral tendencies. A team map is also created, allowing everyone to see where the team falls as a whole. At the end of the session, your team will feel more confident about how to interact with each other, resulting in better communication and team outcomes.

The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team assessment helps individuals and organizations learn what it takes to build a truly cohesive and effective team. Online assessments are taken based on team performance and the results are anonymously compiled and provided in a team profile report. The team learns where they scored on the key components of the Five Behaviors Model:

  • Trust: Are your team members transparent and honest with one another?
  • Conflict: Can team members engage in unfiltered, constructive debate of ideas?
  • Commitment: Can your team offer opinions, debate ideas and commit to decisions?
  • Accountability: Can your team effectively hold each other accountable?
  • Results: How does your team fare with results, the ultimate goal of building building trust, conflict commitment and accountability?

Similar to the Everything DiSC® assessment, colleagues are provided their own book during the session. We will then work with you to learn how to become a stronger team in each of these five categories and how together you achieve the best results for your team. The outcomes of the Five Behaviors training will provide dividends well beyond the training.

What is our process?

Everything DiSC® training sessions generally last half a day, with the Five Behaviors training lasting a full day. Your team will meet with a certified DiSC® trainer and go through a variety of exercises created by both the DiSC® program and our own developed training. When the training is complete, we provide followup support - making sure that your team is utilizing their new training as well as providing additional documents to help your team continue to be efficient.

  2. We will send your team an email to take the appropriate online assessment.

Our trainers will prepare the room for the training of the location of your preference.

  1. Group introductions and and an overview of the DiSC assessment instrument
  2. Module 1: Your dot tells a story - Understanding your workplace styles and tendencies
  3. Module 2: Understanding how you react to the other styles on your team
  4. Module 3: Strategies to increase your individual effectiveness with other team members
  5. Summary: Increasing your overall workplace effectiveness

Everything DiSC® Workplace focuses on self-awareness and understanding on how each team member can best contribute to the good of the whole. The DiSC® map model and common language around difference, allows participants to engage and learn from one another in meaningful ways. The principles and strategies of Everything DiSC® are applied to the specific needs of each individual team and last well beyond the training experience.

Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team Training

Our trainers will prepare the room for the training of the location of your preference.

  1. Group introductions and team ground rules
  2. An introduction to Five Behaviors and an overview of the team score results
  3. Module 1: TRUST - the base for a cohesive and effective team
  4. Module 2: CONFLICT - understanding the difference between healthy and unhealthy team conflict
  5. Module 3: COMMITMENT - attaining clarity and buy-in across the team
  6. Module 4: ACCOUNTABILITY - holding one another to agreed upon team goals and outcomes
  7. Module 5: RESULTS - addressing distractions and focusing on results
  8. Summary: Defining an applicable action plan to what has been learned for the day to day work of the team

Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team provides a framework for honest and anonymous assessment, reflection and action in strengthening and turning a team toward desired results. Participants will each have opportunity to share their perspective on team dynamics, assess their personal styles and tendencies in those dynamics and engage one another in change for the good of the whole. If engaged with honesty and intent, Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team can be transformative.

After the Session:

  1. Our trainer will follow up to ensure that all questions have been answered and your team is utilizing the new information they've received
  2. As a value-add, the company will receive comparison reports after the training has ended. The comparison reports provide more precise information on Person X working with Person Y and vice-versa, based on their placement on the DiSC® map.
